Also, I’d love for you to leave a comment and tell me about your favorite audiobook.
About the Book
Author Jamie King Clark teaches the importance of being a godly leader for Christ. She emphasizes the importance of avoiding being a follower of this world. Following can be so easily done if your roots of faith aren’t deeply planted in the ground of the word of God. Feeling Preachy?…Preach! is an easy to understand book that highlights a few questions that a lot of believers ask, such as, overcoming fear, believing in yourself, and a walk through the Ten Commandments.
About the Author
Author Jamie King Clark was born on August 26 in Shelby, Mississippi and raised in the blink of an eye, small town of Vance, Mississippi. Some of her best childhood memories were made during cotton season, lying across a trailer of freshly picked cotton; daydreaming.
Looking back, it’s a blessing to see that most of those daydreams have come true.
Jamie married the man of her dreams on May 19, 1997, and has been content with her life as a military wife, homeschool mother of two daughters, was an Awana’s leader for five years, and taught 4th- 6th grade Sunday school for almost nine years.
Jamie resides in the wide open spaces of the Mississippi Delta with her husband, Terry, two daughters, Karen and MaKayla, and her curious cat, Delta Dawn.
Jamie King Clark is a mother who teaches Sunday School at her church and in her book, Feeling Preachy?… Preach! those two things shine through as she shares her passion for Jesus and living out your faith at all times. Jamie had a powerful message and relayed it in a way that is super easy to understand and follow, and she backed almost everything up with Scripture quotations and references.
While the target audience is children (probably 3rd-6th grade), I think this would be a fabulous resource for Sunday School teachers and Children’s ministry workers. I would love for my kids to all listen to this, however I doubt they could sit still and stay interested long enough. The chapters are all around 15 minutes long (ranging from 10-20 minutes), which I thought was pretty long for a children’s book.
There was one chapter that I though didn’t really fit with the rest of the book. It talked about how she prayed over her children and God showed up in a visible ball of light over them so she knew her prayers were answered, and how the church family took care of them while her husband was deployed. Because this was a children’s book, that chapter just didn’t seem to fit to me. I will probably skip it when I have my kids listen to this (once I figure out how to break it up into smaller chunks).
On a side note, this is probably one of the best audiobook recordings I have heard. Very well produced and easy to listen to and follow along.
